ComplianceRated is an independent research project that helps buyers compare compliance automation and GRC software. Our aim is to make product claims, pricing evidence and the questions still worth asking easier to understand.
Michael Allison is a software engineer who currently works in the MRS department at FortisBC. He publishes ComplianceRated as a personal project. The site is independent of his employer and does not represent FortisBC's views or endorsements.
His background informs the project's interest in software, integrations and operational workflows. A publisher byline does not imply that he has audited every framework, used every product, or holds a certification relevant to every topic covered here.
The site was initially assembled with substantial AI assistance. AI tools continue to help collect public information, compare records, draft explanations and maintain the website. The published content is desk research unless a page explicitly documents a hands-on test. We do not claim product trials, vendor interviews or customer conversations that have not taken place.
Vendor documentation: Official pricing pages, product documentation and announcements establish what a vendor currently says. They do not independently prove feature quality, implementation speed or compliance outcomes. Recent source checks link to the pages used and state the scope of the update.
Third-party reviews: G2 and Capterra ratings are attributed snapshots from those platforms, not ratings collected by ComplianceRated. Older review counts, feature tables and summaries may be out of date. A high rating alone does not establish that a product meets your requirements or that a quote is good value.
Pricing: We distinguish published prices, historical estimates and custom quotes. When a current official source does not establish a dollar amount, the updated page says so. Unknown trial or free-plan availability is shown as “Ask vendor.” A free trial, public source code and a free hosted plan are different offerings.
Dates: A pricing check updates pricing evidence only. It does not reset the original profile date or imply that every feature and review was reverified. Changes are made as research is completed; there is no guaranteed update schedule.
Use these pages to build a shortlist and prepare questions for a demonstration or quote. Recommendations are editorial judgments based on the stated evidence. Confirm current capabilities, commercial terms and regulatory requirements with the appropriate vendor, auditor or governing body before making a decision.
The site does not sell ranking positions. Vendors may submit corrections, but a correction should include a source we can check. Any future paid or affiliate relationship should be disclosed where it affects a recommendation or link.
Some older pages still need stronger sourcing. Their original dates remain visible rather than presenting them as newly tested content. We prioritize corrections using reader feedback and measured search demand.
Email [email protected] with the page URL, the claim that needs correction and a supporting source. Reader suggestions help identify useful research and comparisons.
